RELAX! BECAUSE NOTHING REALLY MATTERS!
Except that we love, obey and trust God; and live our lives in responses that would please Him
instead of reacting to our circumstances in the flesh. We are here to be conformed to His image
and to be transformed into new creatures in Christ Jesus. Praise the Lord!
Sometimes it could be a broken favorite object that you possess, sometimes it is a fear that
clings on to you over and over again, and sometimes it is a thought that Satan whispers in our
ears to get us upset with someone or some circumstance. It could be a scratch on your car, an
accident that ruins something precious to you, a new blemish that pops up on your skin, it could
be anything that comes along to upset you, gets you to worry, doubt God, fear or mistrust in the
sovereignty of our Lord.
We are so prone to get upset over the smallest things it seems yet we cannot seem to realize
that nothing is worth getting upset about, nothing is worth stressing over, nothing is worth
loosing sleep over, nothing is worth getting fearful over; if our heavenly Father is truly in control
of our lives. If HE is truly the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith, and if He has all things under
control, then why worry? That is foolish in light of the above facts.
One of our great privileges of being a Christian is that WE don’t have to worry and fret like the
world over matters. We have a Father who watches over us, protects us from all evil, and only
allows us to experience things that are for our own good in the end, and will create us into
glorious beings without spot or wrinkle as He works out the characteristics of His beloved Son in
us, which is the point of our being here.
Of course, we are to give Him all the glory as we overcome our trials and obstacles in life, and
when others see this, and then God is glorified through us. We are then walking, living
testimonies of His power to change a person, and of His marvelous grace to do so for us. They
see our trust in Him and marvel and wish that they could experience that same trust that we
have.
Phil 4:6 says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything, Tell God what you
need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which
is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts
and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Isn’t this an absolutely wonderful Scripture! I was so
blessed and relieved when I found that Scripture. It was speaking right to me, and hopefully it
will speak to you as well, so that YOU can turn it all over to Him too.
So we go to God with our problem, burden or request and lay it at His feet. Then we thank Him
for the answer and the intervention in the situation, and TRUST Him to work it out. Then He
gives us peace! And oh, isn’t this what we all want so very much, PEACE! Peace that will
guard our hearts and minds! So much of the time I have found that when I am worried about
something and follow the Phil 4:6 Scripture that God solves the problem before it actually needs
to be addressed, or solved. It all works out BEFORE we even have to make the decision, face
the problem or person, etc.
Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 7:25, “So I tell you, don’t worry about everyday life---
whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn’t life consist of more than food and
clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because
your heavenly Father feed them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are. Can all
your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not. Verse 32-34, “Why be like the
pagans who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly Father already knows
all your needs, and he will give you all you need from day to day if you life for him and make the
Kingdom of God your primary concern. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring
its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
He REALLY can be trusted you know! Whether in death, or in life, in sickness or in health, for
richer or for poorer, He will always have us in the palm of His hand and take care of us as HE
sees best. So we just don’t need to worry.
This life is so very short, and we don’t have very long down here to get through boot camp. So
let us quickly learn our lessons of TRUSTING = FAITH, “for without faith it is impossible to
please God”. That is what He desires most from His kids, is that we TRUST Him in every
circumstance.
I have not overcome all my fears, and I still battle, sometimes falling into fear, then repenting,
getting up again and hopefully allowing these principles to go from my heard deep into my heart
so that I can overcome my fears, and give my Father the honor He so richly deserves, my
TRUST and FAITH that He really knows what He is doing, and means to do me well.
I must remember that whatever circumstance I may find myself in, it is because that is where
God wants me to be at the moment. We may wish to be in another circumstance, but as long as
we are not, then we must determine to make the most of where we are at, and take it that this is
our ministry and our service to God for the present. Then it is easier to do all things as UNTO
the Lord and FOR Him, and it is much easier to accept our circumstance and get a right heart
and attitude; actually accepting the situation with “joy” like Much Afraid in Hinds Feet in High
Places. I can so relate to her, can’t you? And, often when we change our attitudes and begin to
like what we are in, God changes our situation, because we have learned our lesson.
